What is it?
The Medicare Child Dental Benefits Schedule is a dental benefits program that is available for eligible children ages 2-17 years old. It allows parents to claim up to $1000 in benefits for basic dental services valid for 2 consecutive years.
Eligible patients aged 2-17 years old. These children may have received an Australian Government payment such as Family Tax Benefit Part A or other government payments. You can find out if your children are eligible if you have received a government letter or notification. You may contact your dental provider who can check for you or you may contact Medicare directly.
There is a benefit cap that is valid for 2 consecutive years if they are still eligible.
A patient’s benefit cap is only used for them, family members cannot share their benefit. Each child has their own benefit cap of $1000.
