Our team of professionals will listen to your concerns and be attentive to your needs. We have several general dentists and oral health therapists on staff. We also have a consulting oral surgeon and anaesthetist who come once a month for your convenience.

Dr Joanne Tseng
With over 20 years’ experience, Dr Joanne Tseng is co-owner and principal dentist at Newtown Elite Dental, with a second surgery in south west Sydney offering an array of services ranging from minor restorative treatment to extensive cosmetic dentistry for a full smile makeover.
Dr Joanne has a keen interest in the field of orthodontics, including ‘Plates’, ‘Traditional Braces’ and ‘Clear Aligners’ providing these treatments to children and adults. She is also trained in sleep dentistry, and can treat snoring and sleep apnoea.
Dr Joanne continues to progress her skills through ongoing professional development and prioritises her patients needs to achieve the best possible outcome as she provides the best dental care for her patients.
Kristy O’Hara
Kristy is a qualified Oral Health Therapist, enabling her to practice as a Hygienist and a Dental Therapist. As a Hygienist, Kristy will help devise the right oral health plan to suit your dental needs. Her aim is to have a preventative approach to oral disease, providing education and treatment to ensure you maintain superior oral health.
As a Dental Therapist, Kristy is qualified to perform dentistry on children. Her compassion towards children makes them feel very relaxed in an unfamiliar environment. She believes it is necessary to introduce your child to the dental environment at an early age to prevent unnecessary dental problems and familiarise them with dental surroundings.
Dr Arruni Kandasamy
Dr Arruni Kandasamy completed her Doctor of Dental Medicine and Bachelor of Oral Health degrees from the Univesity of Sydney, where she was also a recipient of the Professor Noel Martin Memorial Prize in Research.
Arruni has extensive experience in private practice and government hospitals in rural and regional NSW including Dubbo, Bryon Bay, Ballina, Lismore and Casino. She currently works part-time at the Special Needs and Oral Medicine department at Westmead Hospital and as a casual Academic for the University of Sydney.
She has a keen interest in general dentistry in medically compromised and anxious patients. Her main focus is prevention and education to help patients feel empowered with regards to their oral and general health.
Dr Marisa Perera
Dr Marisa Perera received her Doctor of Dental Medicine and Bachelor of Medical Science (Honours Class I) from The University of Sydney.
Throughout these degrees she was the recipient of the Noel D Martin Memorial Prize, Summer Research Scholarships and Global Mobility Scholarship.
Marisa has had experience in working at private practices in Sydney as well as throughout rural NSW including Tamworth, Armidale, and Bathurst. She is also currently working as a clinical educator for the University of Sydney.
Marisa has a friendly gentle, demeanor and always aims to get her patients out of pain. She puts anxious patients at ease quickly and aims to make the dental visit pleasant and fun.
She has an interest in all areas of general dentistry and aims to look after patients for life, giving them the tools and knowledge to ensure their oral health is the best it can be.
Belinda Tuong
Belinda graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor of Oral Health from the University of Sydney. With her dual qualifications, she can provide paediatric dentistry and dental hygiene treatments.
Belinda has a vested interest in preventative dentistry and early intervention. She participates in continuing education program to further improve her knowledge and skills to enhance her patient’s care and experience.
Her enthusiasm and friendly attitude make her very popular with children.
Natalia Ross
Natalia is an Oral Health Therapist (OHT) who graduated from the University of Sydney. She is qualified to perform treatment on all ages in both hygiene, restorative, whitening and orthodontic procedures. She works alongside our team to provide a positive dental experience for all ages.
Natalia has worked in both the private and public sector where she has gained experience working in specialized units such as paediatrics, periodontics and the special care unit, allowing her to develop her skills while remaining empathetic, gentle and providing patient comfort.
She is passionate about high quality dentistry as she stays up to date and current by regularly upskilling as she attends dental courses to provide the best care for her patients. She is passionate about patient education and empowering individuals with preventive strategies for lifelong oral health and especially educate around early intervention.
Outside of dentistry Natalia enjoys spending time with her family and friends as well as doing outdoor activities like hiking and rock climbing.
Dr Alice Shan
Dr Alice Shan received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The University of Melbourne and has relocated to Sydney where she works as an Associate Dentist here at Newtown Elite Dental. She is passionate about oral health promotion and believes that a healthy mouth forms the foundation of your overall wellbeing.
Being a phobic dental patient in the past, Alice understands the anxiety that can be associated with being in the dental chair. She will make it her mission to help you feel more comfortable at your appointment and is happy to explain each step of the procedure so that you feel more at ease.
Alice has special interest in Cosmetic Dentistry and received the Fred Barnett prize in Fixed Prosthodontics, as well as the Deans Honours List during her studies. She strives to provide the highest quality dental care for patients by utilising the best of her skills and abilities. Alice continues to participate in a variety of continuing education programs to further improve her knowledge, experience & ability to achieve excellent results for her patients.
Dr David Taub
Dr. David Taub graduated with First Class Honours from Sydney University in 1995.
In 2000, David was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons by examination and in 2003 he completed the Post Graduate Diploma Clinical Dentistry (Oral Implants).
David has restricted his practice of dentistry to Oral Surgery and Implantology for the last 20 years
